A Gift From The Journey-Welcome to a reboot of my blog.
When I originally started this blog, it was about the musings that I had in my head. It was a way of getting those thoughts out of my head into a more concrete reflection format. Recently in reading some of the musings my thought was what was I thinking when I wrote that post. What was I thinking then and what do I think now?
In my current chapter of my life, I am a practicing therapist. Now this is not a therapist blog, however, some of the excerpts may hit home and can be therapeutic in their context. I have a fascination with humans in how we think, behave, what creates happiness in our lives, unhappiness, success, failure. All aspects of humanity interest me from a professional and personal level. I notice those things that we have in common, in our humanity, and the differences that rise to the level, generally self-created, that divide us with the creation of deep wells of like, dislike, attraction and repulsion.
What is fascinating to me, about humans, is no matter how much we focus on our differences we have so many core commonalities. The context or structure of how we go about our lives may vary the content may look different but when explored in a deeper fashion the content (meaning) is very similar.
In this winter season of my life I would like to share in my podcast and in my blog my observations of our human kind. Some of my observations are whimsical, some can be sad, interesting, profound and mundane. All of the observations come from my perspective as a witness to the humanity of myself and others. The ultimate purpose, whether you agree or disagree, is to create dialog within your world.
The healing of the divide whether it is our individual pain or global pain starts with positive dialog. It starts with one step towards another human with an open hand and open dialog. The more authentic the dialog the more helpful it can be to our broader context of humanity.
