When you have a multi-racial child you learn about how others treat your child. You can hope that the love that you provide will help your child transverse both the curious questions and the cruel remarks that will be made to you and your child.
When writing Adventures of Tiger and Her Friends/Embracing Differences it was important for me to understand that there are a range of family units. The mixtures of cultural differences, racial differences, national differences all bring knowledge about difference. What we do with that knowledge is probably based on the perceptions of what difference means.
Individually difference can have a range from being entertaining to having your life endangered by those that are opposed to your difference.
